A Minor Bird;

by- Robert Frost

I have wished a bird would fly away,And not sing by my house all day;
Have clapped my hands at him from the door
When it seemed as if I could bear no more.
The fault must partly have been in me.
The bird was not to blame for his key.
And of course there must be something wrong
In want to silence any song.

অনুবাদ:

ছোট্ট একটা পাখি

-রবাট ফ্রস্ট

আমার ইচ্ছা ছিল পাখিটি এখান থেকে উড়ে যাক,

আর সারাদিন আমার আশেপাশে এসে না গান গাক;

দরজা থেকে হাততালি দিযে ওকে আমি উড়াতে চাইতাম

অসহ্য হয়ে উঠেছে হঠাৎ যা আগে ছিল অন্যরকম;

কোনো কোনো বিষয়ে আমারও দোষ থাকবে

ভাগ্যক্রমে পাাখিটির শুধু এর মাঝে কোনো হাত না থাকবে।

আমি ভাবছি এই বিষয়ে কোথাও তো ত্রুটি হয়ে থাকবে

ঐ পাখির সুর মেশানো গান অকারণেই থামতে চাইতাম।

 

Summary/ Theme/ Appreciation:

Robert Frost, an american poet, drew his images from nature. His poems convey a wide range of emotions such as love and happiness, grief and anger, loneliness and nostalgia. The poet regretted what he did because he thought later that the fault might have been in him and it was wrong to silence any song.

“A Minor Bird” is written by Robert Frost. In this poem, the speaker felt bored by the beauty of nature. He wanted to get rid of hearing bird’s singing. But after a short time, he realized he did wrong such a thing. He also thought that fault might be in him and it was not right to silence any song. according to Frost, “A poem begins in delight, and ends in wisdom.”
