Paragraph: War of Independence
The war waged to liberate a country from unlawful domination of a foreign country or oppressive ruler is called War of Independence or Liberation War. The Bangladesh War of Independence or the Bangladesh Liberation War refers to an armed conflict between West Pakistan (now Pakistan) and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) that lasted for roughly nine months in 1971. The war resulted in Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan. We had to fight such a war against the oppression of the Pakistani rulers. It took place in 1971. And it continued for nine months. The war formally started on 26 March and concluded on 16 December. we had been under Pakistani suppression for about 25 years. an election was held in 1970 in which the Bangalees got majority of the seats in Parliament. the sufferings of the people of Bangladesh knew no bounds. We were deprived of our equal rights in almost all sectors like job opportunities, health and educational facilities. Instead of making over power, they brutally killed thousands of innocent people on the night of 25 March. The Bangalees under the command of Bangabandhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman started fighting. They took training in India. Finally, on 16 December the Pakistani occupation forces surrendered to the joint forces and Bangladesh. Consequently, Bangladesh got victory on 16 December 1971. 26 March and 16 December are very momentous days in our life. We observe 26 March as our Independence day and 16 December as our Victory Day. We celebrate our Independence Day colourfully.
