Answer: Abu Bin Adom was a Muslim mystic and king of Balkh which is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. He abandoned his throne in order to serve his fellow beings. He was born in 777 AD. He used to lead his life according to the teachings of Holy Quran.
One night when he was sleeping peacefully in his room, a sparkling light woke him up. He found out that this bright light was due to the presence of a beautiful angel in his room. The angel was writing something in a golden book. The book was also as bright as the angel. Abu was a pious and courageous person. He was not afraid of the Angel and the silence in the room made him more courageous. He asked the angel what she was writing in the book. In reply, the angel told Abu that she was writing the names of all those people who love God. Abu asked the angel curiously if his name was in the list. The angel answered in the negative. Then Abu Bin Adom politely requested the angel to write his name as a person who loves the entire creature created by the almighty. The angel wrote his name, smiled and disappeared.
The other night, the angel came again with the same glistening light and the book. She displayed the names of people whom God had blessed. Abu Bin Adom saw with great surprise that his name was on the top of the list.
Moral: If we love people and care for them, God blesses us.
