All That Glitters Is Not Gold Story

Once upon a time, there was a deer living in a dense forest. One hot afternoon, feeling very thirsty, he went to a nearby stream to drink water. The water was so clear that he could see his own reflection. He admired his beautiful antlers and thought, How magnificent I look! But then he looked at his thin legs and felt sad.

My legs are so weak and ugly, he thought.​Suddenly, he heard the sound of a hunter approaching with his dogs. Frightened, the deer ran as fast as he could. His thin legs helped him run quickly.​ However, his large antlers got caught in some vines. He struggled to free himself but couldn’t. The hunter caught up and killed him.​

Moral: Sometimes, what we are proud of can become our downfall.​
