Zara’s parents Mrs Jhuma Islam, Mr Mazharul Islam, Zara and Mita, fill in their departure cards and move towards the immigration counter.

জারার মাতাপিতা, মিসেস ঝুমা ইসলাম, জনাব মাজহারুল ইসলাম, জারা ও মিতা তাদের প্রস্থান কার্ডগুলো পূরণ করে ইমিগ্রেশন টেবিলের দিকে এগিয়ে যায়।

Mita stands in front of one of the booths. She hands in her passport and the departure card to the officer. The immigration officer goes through Mita’s passport, visa and the departure card. “Are you traveling alone?” asks the officer.

মিতা বুথগুলোর একটার সম্মুখে দাঁড়ায়। সে কর্মকর্তা নিকট তার পাসপোর্ট ও প্রস্থান কার্ড জমা দেয়। ইমিগ্রেশন কর্মকর্তা  মিতার পার্সপোর্ট, ভিসা ও প্রস্থান কার্ড মনোযোগ দিয়ে পড়েন। কর্মকর্তা জিজ্ঞেস  করেন, ” আপনি কি একা যাচ্ছেন?”

“No. I’m going with my aunt, uncle and cousin,” says Mita.

“জি না, আমি আমার চাচা-চাচি চাচাতো বোনের সঙ্গে যাচ্ছি।”

“They are right there on that counter.”

তারা ঠিক ওই কাউন্টারে আছেন।”

” Is this your first visit to Thailand?”

“এটা কি থাইল্যান্ডে আপনার প্রথম বেড়ানো?”

“Yes.”

“জি হ্যা”

” How long are you going to stay there?”

“আপনি সেখানে কত দিন থাকবেন?”

“Seven to ten days.”

“সাত থেকে দশ দিন।”

“Where are you going to stay?”

“আপনি সেখানে কত দিন থাকাবেন?”

“In a hotel.”

একটি হোটেল।”

The officer is talking as well as going through Mita’s papers. He finds the papers OK. He smiles and stamps her passport. The officer keeps the departure card and returns the passport to Mita.

অফিসার কথা বলছেন এবং মিতার কাগজপত্র পড়াছেন। তিনি দেখেন কাগজপত্র সব ঠিক আছে। তিনি সহাস্যে তাঁ পামপোর্টটি মিতাকে ফেরত দেন।

“Have a safe journey.”

“আপনার ভ্রমণ নিরাপদ হোক।”

“Thanks.” Mita wants for her aunt, uncle and Zara on the other side of the immigration. Once all of them are done, they walk towards the passengers’ departure lounge.

“ধন্যবাদ।” মিতা অভিবাসনের অপর পাশে তার চাচা-চাচি ও জারার জন্য অপেক্ষা করে। তাদের সব কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেল এক সময় তার যাত্রীদের প্রস্থান কক্ষের দিকে যায়।
