It’s a beautiful spring day. Maria gets up early. She feels happy. She knows that it’s a nice day because she puts her hand on the glass of the window. It is warm. She opens the window and the singing of the birds fill the room. She can smell the flowers outside her home. They smell sweet and fresh. After Maria gets dressed and has her breakfast, she puts her books in her bag. She is ready for school.
Maria is not like any other students in her neighbourhood. She goes to school and likes to be with her friends. But Maria cannot see the beautiful spring day. She cannot see the flowers, the blue sky or the singing birds. She cannot see these because she is visually impaired. She has been unable to see since she was born.
But Maria is happy. She goes to school every day. She can lea the information because she reads Braille. Braille is a script that uses raised dots. Each letter is made from dots. People move their fingers across the raised dots to read. Maria leaed to read Braille as a young child. Her books at school are in Braille. She enjoys reading poems and history. Maria’s teacher says she is a good learner.
Maria hopes to go to university one day. Her teachers think that she can. Maria wants to set up a school of her own so that she can teach visually impaired children. Before this, Maria wants to be a writer. She wants to write a book about her feelings and experiences. She wants to show other impaired people that they can do amazing things in their lives!

One hot day a thirsty fox was wandering in the forest in search of water. At last he saw a well. He looked into it and saw some water at the bottom. The fox was very eager to drink the water. So he jumped into the well.
After drinking water he wanted to get out of the well. But he could not climb up. Just then a goat came there. The goat was also thirsty. The fox told the goat that the water in the well was very sweet. The foolish goat believed the fox and jumped into the well.
Then the fox climbed on the goat’s back and jumped out of the well. The goat remained inside the well and understood his mistake.

একদিন প্রচণ্ড গরমের দিনে একটি তৃষ্ণার্ত শিয়াল বনে পানি খুঁজতে ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছিল। অবশেষে সে একটি কুয়া দেখতে পেল। সে কুয়ার ভেতরে তাকিয়ে নিচে কিছু পানি দেখতে পেল। শিয়ালটি খুব আগ্রহ নিয়ে সেই পানি পান করতে চাইল। তাই সে কুয়ার মধ্যে লাফ দিয়ে পড়ল।
পানি পান করার পর সে কুয়া থেকে বের হতে চাইল। কিন্তু সে ওপরে উঠতে পারল না। ঠিক তখন সেখানে একটি ছাগল এলো। ছাগলটিও খুব তৃষ্ণার্ত ছিল। শিয়ালটি ছাগলকে বলল যে কুয়ার পানিটি খুব মিষ্টি। বোকা ছাগলটি শিয়ালের কথায় বিশ্বাস করে কুয়ার মধ্যে লাফ দিল।
তারপর শিয়ালটি ছাগলের পিঠের উপর উঠে কুয়া থেকে লাফ দিয়ে বের হয়ে গেল। কিন্তু ছাগলটি কুয়ার ভেতরেই রয়ে গেল এবং তখন সে তার ভুল বুঝতে পারল।
