Dear [Pen Friend’s Name],
I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and spirits. Today, I’d like to share with you a little about my beautiful country, Bangladesh. It is a country rich in culture, history, and natural beauty, and I am so proud to call it home.
Bangladesh is located in South Asia, bordered by India on the west, north, and east, Myanmar to the southeast, and the Bay of Bengal to the south. The country is known for its lush green landscapes, flowing rivers, and warm-hearted people. The Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta, where Bangladesh lies, is one of the largest river deltas in the world, and our numerous rivers are central to our daily life.
The capital city, Dhaka, is a bustling metropolis and one of the most densely populated cities on earth. While Dhaka is always lively and full of energy, the traffic can be quite overwhelming at times! Despite this, the city is known for its vibrant street markets, delicious food, and warm people.
One thing that stands out about Bangladesh is its incredible history. The country became independent in 1971 after a war for independence, which is a deeply significant event for us. We celebrate our independence day on March 26th every year, and the Liberation War of 1971 is an essential part of our national identity.
Our culture is a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. The people here are passionate about music, dance, literature, and art. One of the most important cultural events is Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year, which is celebrated with colorful processions, traditional music, and delicious foods.
Bangladesh is also famous for its cuisine. We love rice and fish, and our dishes are full of flavors and spices. One of the most iconic dishes is “bhuna khichuri,” a type of spiced rice dish, which is often served with a side of fish curry. We also have mouth-watering sweets like “roshogolla” and “mishti doi” (sweet yogurt) that are loved by all.
Nature lovers would enjoy visiting our beaches, like Cox’s Bazar, which is the longest unbroken sandy sea beach in the world. We also have beautiful tea gardens in the Sylhet region, and the Sundarbans mangrove forest, home to the Bengal tigers, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
In addition to our rich culture and natural beauty, Bangladesh is known for its resilience and the strong spirit of its people. We face challenges like flooding and poverty, but we always strive to improve and make our country a better place for all.
I hope you now have a better picture of Bangladesh. I would love to hear more about your country too, so feel free to tell me about it in your next letter.
Take care and stay in touch!
Warm regards,

Dear Arif,
I am glad to receive your letter. I have learnt much from your letter about your country Japan. You have expressed your desire to know about my country, Bangladesh. Bangladesh declared independence on 26 March 1971. It became free from Pakistan on 16 December 1971 after a great liberation war. Bangladesh is a small country with a large population. It is a democratic country with many kinds of people. They follow different religions and customs. All these people are free and have equal rights. Some people of these basic rights are the right to food, health, shelter, and education. It is not easy for everyone to have these basic rights, because they are expensive. Bangladesh is also a beautiful country with many resources. It is a fertile land and where rice, jute, sugar-can, tea and fruits grow in plenty. Bangladesh has rich deposit of oil, gas and coal. It can utilize these resources and become prosperous. These things can help Bangladesh to earn money and give basic rights to her peoples. No more today.
With love and best wishes.
Yours ever,
Masud
