JSC Dialogue📖Class VIII

Make a dialogue between you and the waiter before ordering your meal.

Suppose, you are Rabid and you are in a restaurant with your sister. Make a dialogue between you and the waiter before ordering your meal.

Here is a piece of dialogue between waiter and customer in the restaurant

Waiter      : ‘Hello, sir! Please come this way, your table has been reserved!’

Customer : ‘Thank you! Can I have the menu, please?’

Waiter      : ‘Certainly, would you like to have regular water or mineral water?’

Customer: ‘Get me regular water, please’

Waiter      : ‘Sure Sir!’ : ‘Here is your water and the menu. Do let me know what you wish to order!’

Customer : ‘Yes, but before that, would you please tell me what is the famous dish in this restaurant?’

Waiter      : ‘Would you like to know from the veg menu or from the non-veg menu?‘

Customer : ‘From the non-veg menu.’

Waiter      : ‘For today, we have prawns sizzler, chicken salad, afghani bread, and mutton curry! Would you like to order anything from this or would you like to go with the menu, sir?’

Customer : ‘Umm. Would mutton curry be too spicy or is it medium spicy?’

Waiter      : ‘Mutton curry would be a bit spicy but if you wish, then we can make it less spicy.’

Customer : ‘Okay then I would like to have one medium spiced mutton curry along with two naans.’

Waiter      : ‘Sure sir! Would you like to have any soft drink with your meal?’

Customer : ‘Yes, I would like to have a chilled sprite!’

Waiter      : ‘Alright sir!’

Customer : ‘How much time it will take for the food to arrive?’

Waiter      : ‘Not much sir, hardly 20-25 minutes. That’s all! Till then you can watch the cricket match, sir!’

Customer : ‘Yes, thank you.’

Waiter      : ‘No problem, sir!’

or,

Rabid: (sitting at the table with my sister, looking through the menu) Hmm, everything looks so good. What are you getting?

Sister: I’m thinking of the grilled chicken salad. But what about you? You’re always so picky.

Rabid: (laughing) I know, I know. I just like to take my time, you know? I’ll probably go for the steak, but I have a few questions first.

(Waiter approaches the table)

Waiter: Good evening! Welcome to [Restaurant Name]. My name is Tom, and I’ll be taking care of you today. Can I get you started with some drinks?

Rabid: (looking up from the menu) Oh, hey there! Yeah, I think I’ll have the iced tea. Does it come with lemon?

Waiter: Yes, it does! Would you like some extra lemon on the side?

Rabid: Yeah, that would be great. (pauses) Also, can you tell me a bit more about the steak options? Like, is the ribeye marbled, or is it leaner?

Waiter: Sure! The ribeye is well-marbled, so it’s got a nice amount of fat for extra flavor and tenderness. If you prefer something leaner, I’d recommend the filet mignon, which is much leaner but still really tender.

Rabid: Hmm, I’m leaning towards the ribeye, but I like my steak medium-rare. Is it cooked well? I’ve had places where it comes out overcooked, and I just… can’t do that.

Waiter: (smiling) I totally get that. We cook it to your exact preference, so if you order it medium-rare, you’ll definitely get it just right. We take pride in our steak doneness.

Rabid: (nodding) That’s good to hear. I’m in the mood for something with a little spice, too. Do you have anything like that?

Waiter: We actually have a spicy garlic butter sauce that you can add to your steak. It’s got a kick but isn’t overwhelming. Would you like to try that with your ribeye?

Rabid: Oh, that sounds perfect! Definitely add that. And do the steaks come with any sides, or do I have to order them separately?

Waiter: The steaks come with a side of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. You can also swap those out if you’d like something else. We have options like fries, baked potatoes, or even a side salad.

Rabid: (glancing at my sister) What do you think? Fries or baked potato?

Sister: Fries! Definitely fries.

Rabid: (to the waiter) Alright, fries it is. Oh, and do you have any dessert options? I think we might need to end the meal on a sweet note.

Waiter: Absolutely! Our chocolate lava cake is very popular, and we also have a cheesecake with fresh berries. Both are excellent choices.

Rabid: Chocolate lava cake sounds amazing. I’ll take one of those, too.

Waiter: Great choice! I’ll put that in for you. I’ll be right back with your drinks, and I’ll get the order started.

Rabid: Thanks so much!

Sister: (smiling) See? I told you we’d eat well tonight.

Rabid: (laughing) You were right, as always.

or,

Rabid: [Looking around] Wow, this place looks amazing! Can’t wait to see what’s on the menu.

Waiter: Good evening! Welcome to The Velvet Spoon. How can I help you today?

Rabid: [Smiling] Hey, thanks! This place has such a cool vibe. We’re just getting started, but we need a minute to look at the menu.

Sister: Yeah, we’re still deciding. Thanks for checking in!

Waiter: Of course! Take your time. Would you like to hear about today’s specials while you decide?

Rabid: Hmm, yeah, tell us about them. I’m always down to try something new!

Waiter: Great! We’ve got a pan-seared salmon with a lemon-butter sauce, served with wild rice and roasted vegetables. And for dessert, a rich chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis. How does that sound?

Sister: That sounds pretty good… but I think I’m in the mood for something lighter.

Rabid: [Nods] Yeah, I’m not sure if I want to go for a big entrée tonight. Maybe something smaller… like the truffle fries?

Waiter: Excellent choice! The truffle fries are served with a garlic aioli dipping sauce. We also have a light arugula salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and balsamic glaze if you’re looking for something fresh and simple.

Rabid: Oh, that salad sounds amazing. I might go for that. How about you, sis?

Sister: I think I’ll go with the salmon. It sounds too good to pass up.

Rabid: Perfect! So, I’ll have the arugula salad and some truffle fries on the side. What about drinks?

Sister: I’ll have a glass of white wine, please. Something crisp, maybe a Sauvignon Blanc.

Rabid: And I’ll have a sparkling water, if you don’t mind.

Waiter: Got it! I’ll get that started for you. Feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Rabid: Thanks! We’re all set for now. Appreciate it.

Sister: Yep, everything sounds great. Can’t wait to dig in!
