Our country is overpopulated. Roads are also busy. So, street accidents have become quite common. Most often accidents take place for careless driving-. Every day we find the news of many road accidents in the newspaper. The causes of street accidents are reckless driving, brake failures of vehicles, over-taking of one vehicle by another, driving by unskilled drivers. Over loading of vehicles is another reason for accidents. Another reason is violation of traffic rules. Even the police cannot control the traffic rule breakers. They dash the small vehicles and cause accidents. Last Friday I was waiting for a bus at the bus stop. At that time I saw an old man walking along the pavement. He was carrying a bag. At once he stopped right opposite the bus stop. He looked both ways carefully. As there were no vehicles coming, he staffed to cross the road. He was coming towards the bus stop. I saw a small car coming from a distance. I thought he would be able to cross the road safely. But in the middle of the road, his bag fell from his hand. Then he stopped to pick the bag up. He didn’t see that car coming. The driver of the car did not expect the man to stop in the middle of the road. He applied the brakes but he could not stop the car. It hit the old man. He was thrown away. I went to the scene. He was in a pool of blood. I called for an ambulance. It came in no time and took the injured man to the hospital. Just at that moment, a policeman came to the place. I told him how the accident happened. The driver of the car was arrested by the police. Just then my bus came. I came home by that. As a result, a street accident is caused by every-day. So we should try to solve it. Traffic rules should be imposed. Passer-by and driver should be aware. Radio, T.V can play an important role in this regard. Govt. also should take proper steps to solve this problem.
