Paragraph on World Heritage Site

A World Heritage Site is a place of either cultural or physical signifance. A place becomes a World Heritage Site when the international community recognizes it as possessing universal value. Then the responsibility for its preservation comes under an international collective body. The country possessing the site nominates it to the World Heritage Convention. And a 21-member international committee decides whether it has universal value. If the committee agrees, it declares the site as a World Heritage Site. There are 890 World Heritage Sites located in 148 countries .Some World Heritage Sites of the world are: the Pyramids in Egypt, the Tag Mahal in India, the Great Wall of China, the Statue of Liberty in the USA etc. Mosque City of Bagerhat is one of the three World Heritage Sites in Bangladesh .The Sunderbans is another World Heritage Site of Bangladesh. Sompura Bihar at Paharpur was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Each World Heritage Site is the property of the state on whose territory the site is located. But it is considered in the interest of international community to preserve each site.   There are three world heritage sites in Bangladesh. They are the Shatgombuj Mosque, the Buddhist Vehar and the Sundarbans. The Shatgombuj Mosque is situated at Bagerhat. It was built by khan Jahan Ali, a pious man and the founder of Bagerhat town. The Shatgombuj Mosque is one of the oldest and largest mosques in Bangladesh. The majar of Khan Jahan Ali is situated near the mosque. The Buddhist Vehar is a 7th century structure meant for the prayer house of Buddhist. It is the largest monastery in Indian subcontinent. It is also considered as a center for education and knowledge. The other world heritage site is the Sundarbans. It is the largest and most beautiful forest in the world. There is a variety of life and wilderness. The spotted deer, The Royal Bengal Tiger are special attractions of this forest. It is an attractive tourist spot in our country. If I get any chance, I want to visit the world heritage sites of our country. Indeed, the world heritage sites are the significant assets of the whole nation.
