LET’S SAVE OUR PLANET!

আসুন আমাদের গ্রহকে বাঁচাই!

Everyone must play a part in protecting the environment. There are many things you can do on your own every day to help save the planet. Here are some suggestions.

পরিবেশ রক্ষায় সবাইকে ভূমিকা রাখতে হবে। গ্রহকে বাঁচাতে সাহায্য করার জন্য আপনি প্রতিদিন নিজে থেকে অনেক কিছু করতে পারেন। এখানে কিছু প্রস্তাবনা.

REDUCE!
Really, the best thing we can do for the planet is to use less of it. Our consumer society is mainly responsible for the environmental crisis.

কমানো!

সত্যিই, গ্রহের জন্য আমরা যা করতে পারি তা হল এর কম ব্যবহার করা। পরিবেশ সংকটের জন্য আমাদের ভোক্তা সমাজ প্রধানত দায়ী।

Here are some questions you can ask yourself before buying something, “Do I really need this?” or “Is there another product which would do the same thing but more sustainable?”

এখানে কিছু প্রশ্ন রয়েছে যা আপনি কিছু কেনার আগে নিজেকে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে পারেন, “আমার কি সত্যিই এটি দরকার?” অথবা “আরেকটি পণ্য আছে যা একই জিনিস করবে কিন্তু আরও টেকসই?”

Or ask the question, “Will this last a long time?” Some other questions may be, “Do I know how this item was made, how it will be used and how it will be disposed of?”

অথবা প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করুন, “এটি কি দীর্ঘ সময় চলবে?” অন্য কিছু প্রশ্ন হতে পারে, “আমি কি জানি এই আইটেমটি কীভাবে তৈরি করা হয়েছে, কীভাবে এটি ব্যবহার করা হবে এবং কীভাবে এটি নিষ্পত্তি করা হবে?”

REUSE!
What do you think of using your own ceramic cup or mug at your school or local club? It means there are no plastic cups to throw away.

পুনরায় ব্যবহার করুন!

আপনার স্কুল বা স্থানীয় ক্লাবে আপনার নিজের সিরামিক কাপ বা মগ ব্যবহার করার বিষয়ে আপনি কী ভাবেন? এর মানে ফেলে দেওয়ার মতো কোনো প্লাস্টিকের কাপ নেই।

You can wash it and reuse it every day. Unfortunately, we are encouraged to buy a new “improved” item even if the one we have can be repaired or reused.

আপনি প্রতিদিন এটি ধুয়ে এবং পুনরায় ব্যবহার করতে পারেন। দুর্ভাগ্যবশত, আমাদের একটি নতুন “উন্নত” আইটেম কিনতে উৎসাহিত করা হয় যদিও আমাদের কাছে থাকা একটি মেরামত বা পুনরায় ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে।

When we buy things, we should buy items which are durable; we should use them properly, and have them repaired when necessary.

আমরা যখন জিনিস কিনি, তখন আমাদের টেকসই জিনিস কেনা উচিত; আমাদের উচিত সেগুলি সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহার করা এবং প্রয়োজনে সেগুলি মেরামত করা উচিত৷

If we practise this, many things can not only last a life-time, but also be passed on to future.

আমরা যদি এটি অভ্যাস করি তবে অনেক কিছুই কেবল সারাজীবন টিকে থাকতে পারে না, ভবিষ্যতের দিকেও চলে যেতে পারে।

However, If something is truly unusable for its original purposes, try to be more creative and think of how else it might be used.

When you’re done with it, think of whether someone else might be able to use it. You can donate some of the things to the poor.

You may also sell some of your used items through personal ads in a local newspaper.

RECYCLE!
Rather than throwing an item out when neither you nor anyone else can make use of it, have it recycled.

আপনি বা অন্য কেউ এটি ব্যবহার করতে না পারলে একটি আইটেম বাইরে ফেলে দেওয়ার পরিবর্তে, এটি পুনর্ব্যবহৃত করুন।

And while recycling is not possible, it is better to send goods to a landfill or have them burned up.

এবং পুনর্ব্যবহার করা সম্ভব না হলে, ল্যান্ডফিলে পণ্যগুলি পাঠানো বা সেগুলি পুড়িয়ে দেওয়া ভাল।

Find out what types of materials can be recycled in your area. Clean and sort the materials before putting them out in the bin.

Recycling your drink and food cans means there will be less trash in a resource recovery facility or landfill.

Moreover, a company can use the old cans to make new ones.
