What type of job do you want to have? Is it highly paid and high profile conventional job liked by most people? Yes, you can have it.

আপনি কোন ধরনের চাকরি চান? এটা কি অধিক বেতনের ও প্রচলিত উচ্চ প্রফাইলের কাজ যা অধিকাংশ মানুষ পছন্দ করে? হ্যাঁ আপনি এটা পেতে পারেন।

It is the question of your choice and important decisions that advance your life ahead. But have you ever thought of other types of jobs out there— cool, fun, exciting, even strange or weird jobs you never imagined to exist?

এটা আপনার পছন্দ ও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার ব্যাপার, যা আপনার জীবনকে সামনে এগিয়ে নিতে সাহায্য করবে। কিন্তু এর বাইরেও আপনি কি কখনো অন্য ধরনের কাজের চিন্তা করেছেন- শান্ত, মজাদার, উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ, এমনকি অসাধারণ বা অদ্ভুত কাজ যার অস্তিত্বআপনি কখনো জানতেন না।

What are they? Did you ever wonder who picks up the chewing gum left on a park bench or who assesses whether a piece of furniture is comfortable enough or who constructs glass eyeballs or who farms oysters in the middle of the ocean?

সেগুলো কী ধরনের? আপনি কি কখনো ভেবেছেন পার্কের বেঞ্চ হতে কারা চিউইং গাম কুড়ায় অথবা কারা নিরুপণ করে এক টুকরো ফার্নিচার যথেষ্ট আরামদায়ক কি না কিংবা কারা কাচের চক্ষুগোলক নির্মাণ করে অথবা কারা সমুদ্রের মাঝখানে ঝিনুক আবাদ করে।

These are all wacky, odd, unexpected, wild, crazy, unconventional, strange or just plain weird jobs and careers. They are not your traditional career choices, but somebody out there does all these things, gets paid for it, and enjoys life like anybody else.

এই সবই অস্বাভাবিক, অপ্রতাশিত, বন্য, রীতিবিরুদ্ধ, বা শুধু নিছক অদ্ভুত কাজ ও পেশা। এগুলো আপনার প্রথাগত/ গতানুগতিক পছন্দের পেশা নয়, কিন্তু এখানে কেউ না কেউ এসব কাজ করে, এর জন্য বেতন পান এবংঅন্য কারোর মতই জীবন উপভোগ করেন।

There are hundreds of such jobs to take if you want to travel the less taken ways of life. You have to decide on several questions:

যদি আপনি জীবনের কম গৃহীত পথে ভ্রমণ করতে চান তাহলে করার মতো এই ধরনের শত শত কাজ আছে। আপনাকে কয়েকটি প্রশ্নের ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্তে আসতে হবে:

What companies will recruit/hire me?
Do I actually make a paycheck?
What type of education/diploma will I need?
Can I make a living doing this?

কোন কোম্পানিগুলো আমাকে নিয়োগ করবে/ ভাড়া নিবে?
আমি আসলেই মুজুরির চেক পাব কি?
কোন ধরনের শিক্ষা/ ডিপ্লোমা আমার প্রয়োজন হবে?
এই কাজ করে আমি জীবিকা নির্বাহ করতে পারি কি?

Your answers to these questions will help pave your career roadmap and help you decide if you are ready to take the challenge. Decide if you want a change.

এসব প্রশ্নের উত্তরই আপনার কর্মজীবনের রোডম্যাপ অঙ্কন করতে সাহায্য করবে এবং আপনাকে সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে সাহায্য করবে, যদি আপনি চ্যালেঞ্জ নিতে প্রস্তুত থাকেন।সিদ্ধান্ত নিন যদি আপনি একটা পরিবর্তন চান।

A lot of strange jobs also allow you to work part-time or freelance when it fits your schedule. This way you can get a taste of freedom, a secondary income, and build experience at the same time.

অনেক অদ্ভুত ধরনেরকাজ রয়েছে যা আপনাকে খন্ডকালীন বা একজন ফ্রিল্যান্সার হিসেবে কাজ করার সুযোগ দিবে, যদি এটা আপনার কর্মতালিকার সাথে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ হয়। এভাবে আপনি স্বাদ পেতে পারেন স্বাধীনতার, একটা বিকল্প আয়ের এবং একই সময়ে অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনের।

স্মারকলিপি লেখা ও বিরক্তিকর সভায় যোগদানের বাইরে আপনার কোনো আগ্রহ আছে কি? যদি থাকে, আপনি ভাবতে পারেন কীভাবে অদ্ভুত কাজ খুঁজে পাবেন।

Hobbies are a good place to start. What do you do for fun? Do you stuff animals, act like Charlie Chaplin, or make model cars?

শখ হলো এ জাতীয় কাজ শুরু করার একটা ভালো জায়গা। মজা করার জন্য আপনি কী করেন? আপনি কি খেলনা পশু বানাবেন, চার্লি চ্যাপলিনের মতো অভিনয় করবেন, নাকি খেলনা গাড়ি তৈরি করবেন?

If you enjoy it, someone out there works in that field and is making money off your hobby. Maybe they are testing mountaineering equipment, developing fragrances, trying new brands of undergarments, or saving sea turtles. And they are getting paid good wages.

এমন অনেক লোক আছে যারা মাঠে কাজ করে, আপনার শখকে আশ্রয় করে অর্থ উপার্জন করে।হয়তো তারা পর্বতারোহন সরঞ্জাম পরীক্ষা করছে, সুগন্ধি উন্নয়নের প্রচেষ্টা করছে বা সমুদ্রের কচ্ছপদের রক্ষা করছে। আর তারা ভালো পারিশ্রমিকও পাচ্ছেন।
