My dear father,

I received your letter yesterday. Our annual results have just come out. You will be happy to know that I was the first in the order of merit. Our new class session is going to start from January 10th, 2022. So it is very important to buy a new book. I also have to buy a school dress. Now I need about 1000 rupees. But the money you sent earlier has run out. So try to send money as soon as possible.

My dear Father,

Your letter of the 3rd instant gave me much encouragement. I am determined to work very hard. The results of my Second Terminal Examination were published a few days ago. I have come up first in this examination. In the mean time I have bought books prescribed for us by the Board. But my teachers have recommended a few more books. They said these books would help me much in my studies. I want to buy these books which will cost me about 800.00 taka. Moreover, it is winter now. I need some warm clothes and a pair of keds. For these I need at least an amount of Taka 2500.
