The practice of social distancing encourages the use of things such as online video and phone communication instead of in-person contact. Social distancing has become the buzzword for us since the beginning of the year 2020. It means restraining social interactions to the minimum so that the  highly contagious SARS CoV-2 virus responsible for COVID_19 pandemic can be contained. We must no go out unless extreme necessity arises. At last three feet distance must be kept from others while we are outside. alternative measures of communicating with others have to be  in practice to avoid all kinds of in-person meetings. People must try to stay away from all sorts of social gatherings like parties and other social and cultural programs. Places like supermarkets, sea beaches, movie theaters, parks and malls should be kept closed to reduce the risk of getting infected with the disease. The entire concept may sound suffocating. However, this is the most effective way to prevent the spread.
