I am a great fan of cricket. I am also a member of our local cricket team. Every holiday we play cricket.
আমি ক্রিকেট খেলার একজন বড় অনুরাগী। আমাদের স্থানিয় ক্রিকেট দলের একজন সদস্যও বটে, প্রত্যেক ছুটির দিনে আমরা ক্রিকেট খেলি।
On a summer evening, we all were enjoying our holidays by watching a cricket match with a neighbouring team.
গ্রীষ্মের সন্ধ্যায়, প্রতিবেশী দলের সাথে ক্রিকেট খেলা দেখে আমরা ছুটির দিনগুলো উপভোগ করতাম।
We were very tense about our team’s performance though we had two great players, Nabil and Junayed.
আমাদের দলের কৃতিত্ব নিয়ে আমরা খুবই উদ্বিগ্ন ছিলাম যদিও নাবিল ও জুনায়েদ নামে আমাদের দুজন অসাধারণ খেলোয়াড় ছিল।
I still could remember the day we got Junayed as a player in our team. In the evening we were playing.
আমাদের দলে জুনায়েদকে যেদিন খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে পেয়েছিলাম- আমি সে দিনটি এখনও পর্যন্ত স্মরণ করতে পারি। আমরা সন্ধ্যায় খেলা করতাম।
When it came to Nabil’s turn to bat, we got scared as he was known for his long shots.
যখন নাবিলের ব্যাট করার পালা আসত তখন আমরা ভয় পেয়ে যেতাম যেহেতু সে তার লম্বা শটের জন্য পরিচিত ছিল।
He used to bat so hard that we often ended up losing the ball. Today was no different, Nabil hit the ball and it broke a window of the nearly a building.
সে এতই জোরে ব্যাট করত যে আমরা প্রায়ই বল হারানোর মাধ্যমে খেলা শেষ করতাম। আজ ব্যতিক্রম ছিল না, নাবিল বলটিতে আঘাত করল এবং এটি নিকটবর্তী ভবনের একটি জানালা ভেঙে ফেললো।
All of us ran from the spot fearing that we would be given a nice scolding. But Nabil didn’t move and he stood proudly with the bat in his hand.
ঘটনাস্থল থেকে আমাদের সবাই ভয়ে দৌড়াতে শুরু করল যেহেতু আমরা কঠিন বকুনি খেতাম। কিন্তু নাবিল নড়ল না এবং সে ব্যাট হাতে নিয়ে সর্গবে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকল।
A few minutes later a young boy came down with the ball. He introduced himself as Junayed and gave the ball to Nabil.
কয়েক মিনিট পরে এক কমবয়সি ছেলে বলটি নিয়ে ফিরে এলো। সে নিজেকে জুনায়েদ বলে পরিচয় দিলো এবং নাবিলকে বলটি দিল।
As Junayed turned around, Nabil said thank you to him but he didn’t respond. Nabil patted his shoulder and said thank you to him once again.
যেহেতু জুনায়েদ ঘুরে দাঁড়ালো সেহেতু নাবিল তাকে ধন্যবাদ দিলো কিন্তু সে জবাব দিল না।নাবিল তার কাঁধ চাপড়ালো এবং তাকে আবার বললো তোমাকে ধন্যবাদ।
This time the boy read his lips and replied welcome. He then told Nabil that he had lost his power of listening when he was young.
এই সময় ছেলেটি তার ঠৌঁট নাড়া দেখে কথা বুঝল এবং উত্তর দিলো স্বাগতম। তখন সে নাবিলকে বললো যে যখন সে ছোট ছিল তখন সে তার শ্রবণ শক্তি হারিয়েছিল।
Nabil asked him if he would like to play with them. He agreed happily.
নাবিল তার কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করল সে তাদের সাথে খেলবে কি না।
Since then, he has been giving a tough contest to Nabil in breaking window panes with his long shots.
তখন থেকে সে নাবিলের সাথে লম্বা শটে জানালার (সার্সির) কাচ ভাঙা্র কঠিন প্রতিযোগিতা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
