Many people like games and sports. But not all games are favorite to them. Some favor football: some like cricket and again some like other indoor games like chess, table tennis, etc. There are many outdoor and indoor games in the world. The football game is an outdoor game. I like football games among outdoor games. It is now a popular game. In almost every school and village there is a football team. It has come to this country from England and nowadays is played all over the world.

I favor football as my favorite game. The game of football is a favorite for me. It came from England. But it is now a very popular game. I’m a great lover of these games. Though football is a foreign game, it has become one of our national games. Nowadays. Football is played in every nook and corner of the world.

It is played in almost all the countries of the world. In our country, it is equally popular. It is played in schools, colleges, universities and also in villages with equal thrill and jest. Hence of all the games. I like football most. 1 have an additional interest for football which is very much interesting. It is full of thrill for both the players and the spectators. It needs energy. Swiftness and above all, the technique to play the game. It is an excellent form of exercise that makes the players strong and stout and hardy. These are the various reasons for which it is my favorite game.

The game is played between two teams. Each team has eleven players of whom one is the goalkeeper.  Each of the teams tries to score a goal. It is played for ninety minutes. This time is divided into two halves. There are 10 minutes for rest. A referee conducts the game. The party that scores more goals wins the game. It teaches the principle of discipline and obedience to rules. It also makes the players prompt, careful, strong, and hardy. Thus, apart from giving an excellent amusement, football teaches many virtues and helps in the formation of character.

Football is not an unmixed blessing. It has some demerits also. Many students spoil their studies for their craze for football. They not only play football but also talk of football, think of football, and dream of football. The rivalry of the play often leads to quarrels and squabbles. Sometimes it goes to such an extent that the whole playground turns into a battlefield. But with all these demerits.

There are several kinds of games. Some games are indoor, some are outdoor. Indoor games like carom, chess, etc. do not require more space.

They can be played inside the house. While sports like hockey, football, cricket, etc. are played in open ground. They involve lots of physical activities. Games like chess, carom board, etc. demand less physical involvement than football and hockey.

Of all the games I like cricket very much. It is one of the popular games all across the world. It is equally popular in developed and developing countries. A child finds it interesting. Even small children in remote villages can be seen playing cricket.

When there is any big event in cricket, cricket fever is high. During cricket season absenteeism is very common. Presence in colleges and offices declines sharply. People take leave to enjoy the match of cricket.

Cricket is played with bat and ball in an open ground. It is played between two teams. It is a game which requires energy, stamina, concentration and fitness. Every player plays with a team spirit. It is the spirit which ensures the win of the team.

The game of cricket infuses in the player a sense of cooperation and coordination. Not only discipline and cooperation, the game has become a good source of earning too. The team which wins any mega event is showered with booties. The players become multi-millionaire overnight. They become hero. They become role model particularly for the youth.

It is the popularity of this game that big companies sponsor sports events. The tickets are sold at high rate. Big money is at stake. The stadium is crowded with the spectators. The players are showered with gifts for every sixes and fours. Its popularity can be gauged from the thundering applause of the spectators.

Even its commentary right involves huge money. Cricket is a cheap game. It requires only bats and ball. Twenty players play with only one ball and two bats. It presents a good career option today. The game is a good source of promoting love, friendliness and cooperation among member countries. It brings them closer.

Cricket is my favorite game. It gives energy, strength, inspiration and stamina. It brings pleasure and prosperity. It commands both respect and resources. Therefore, I like it most.
