‘Pahela Boishakh’ is the first day of Bangla new year. The day is a public holiday.

পহেলা বৈশাখ বাংলা নববর্ষের প্রথম দিন। দিনটি সরকারি ছুটির দিন।

This day has a special significance for us as it forms a part of Bangalee culture and tradition.

এদিনটি বাঙালির সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্যের একটি অংশ, তাই এ দিনটি আমাদের কাছে বিশেষভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

People from all walks of life, irrespective of their ethnic identity or religious beliefs, celebrate the day with traditional festivities.

সকল স্তরের মানুষ, তাদের জাতিগত পরিচয় অথবা ধর্মীয় বিশ্বাস নির্বিশেষে, ঐতিহ্যবাহী আমোদ- প্রমোদের সাথে দিনটি পালন করে।

On this day, the whole of Bangladesh is in a festive mood. The day inspires people to start life with renewed hopes and aspirations.

মহিলারা লাল পেড়ে সাদা শাড়ি পরে এবং নিজেদেরকে সুন্দরভাবে চুড়ি ও ফুল দিয়ে সাজায়, আর পুরুষেরা পাজামা ও পাঞ্জাবি পরে।

It is a day when people love eating traditional food. This day the most colourful event is held in Dhaka.

এদিনটিতে মানুষ ঐতিহ্যগত খাবার খেতে পছন্দ করে। সবচেয়ে রঙিন নববর্ষ উৎসব ঢাকায় পালন করা হয়।

Early in the morning, people in hundreds and thousands pour in from all directions to attend the cultural function at Ramna Batamul organised by Chhyanata.

The celebration of Pahela Boishakh marks a day of cultural unity for the whole nation irrespective of caste and creed.

পহেলা বৈশাখ উদ্যাপন সমগ্র জাতির জন্য এক সাংস্কৃতিক ঐক্যের দিন হিসেবে চিহ্নিত হয়।
