A Dialogue Between Two Friends About Uses of Internet

Maruf : Hello Rasel, how are you?

Rasel : Hi! I am doing fine. Thanks. What about you?

Maruf : I’m also fine. Well, have you taken your Internet connection?

Rasel : Yes, I have already taken. I am using a mobile SIM for browsing Internet.

Maruf : Do you use internet?

Rasel :  Yes, I use internet everyday.

Maruf : I see. Do you know, what is internet?

Rasel ; Yes I know. Internet is one of the greatest inventions of modern science. It is a vast network that connects computers all over the world. It is a complex space. It is the most  effective and the most modern means of communication and collecting information. It is the lasted device for globalization. It is a vast world of information.

Maruf : Oh I see. But how does it work?

Rasel : It supplies the users a large amount of information, picture, video and audio quickly. It is miracle. It works like Aladdin’s magic lamp.

maruf : Do you know, what are the main purposes of using internet?

Rasel: Yes, I know. It is one of the best medium of communication and collection information.

Maruf : Then.

Rasel : It has made our life easy and comfortable. It has brought the world within our closed fist. It is not only the field of information and communication but also plays a significant role in trade and commerce. At present, internet based e-commerce has become very popular all over the world. It gives customers the opportunity to buy thing without going to market.

Maruf : Oh I see.

Rasel : Besides these, students and teachers can easily get necessary information through internet. They can read books without going to library. Moreover, economists, doctors, businessman and other professionals use internet for their professional interest.

Maruf : Really! I know that Every scientific invention has some abuses. Is internet exception?

Rasel : No, Internet is no exception. It has some abuses. It is doing a lot of harm to the teenagers. Young people are so much addicted to Internet. So their study is greatly hampered. Over use of internet makes eyesight weak and wastage of time. Many people abuses this blessing by placing information or data that is unacceptable such as pornography. Some others may use it for fraud or theft.

Maruf : Good, what is your idea about using the Internet?

Rasel : In fact, mobile and internet are now an integrated part of our modern life. I think it is no luxury at all.

Maruf : You’re right. For quick communication mobile and internet are a must. I often download reading materials from internet for my assignment.

Rasel : I also download songs and videos from internet. But it is unfortunate that only the advanced section of our society has access to it.

Maruf : Really, it is unfortunate. Measures should be taken so that all people get access to it.

Rasel : Right you are. Every educational institution should have Internet connection. And the young should be encouraged to browse important websites.

Maruf : Sure. By doing so students should be given the opportunity to have the whole world through internet. But there are some bad effects of internet.

Rasel : Yes, some young people are watching pornography through internet, which are degrading their morality.

Maruf : It is absolutely true. Besides, some people are blackmailing others through internet.

Rasel : I agree with you. However, everything has good and bad sides and we should always take the good ones always.
